Asia-Pacific markets closed lower Tuesday, with South Korea’s Kospi leading declines.
The Nikkei 225 plummeted another 1,437.91 points, or 2.1%, to 66,819.05.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index ricocheted upwards 702.57 points, or 3%, to 24,199.46.

In Shanghai, the CSI index retreated 36.73 points, or 0.8%, to 4,755.53.
In Korea, the Kospi index declined 409.52 points, or 5.4%, to 7,246.79
In Singapore, the Straits Times 50 index added 27.33 points, or 0.5%, to 5,369.57
The Taiex index in Taiwan recovered 255.3 points, or 0.6%, to 45,734.41
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 docked 97.61 points, or 0.7%, to 13,665.18.
In Australia, the ASX fell 18.83 points, or 0.2% to 8,785.09.
