Labour Force Survey (Nov.) Employment increased by 44,000, or 0.2%, in October, bringing the number of people employed in Canada to over 18 million for the first time. The unemployment rate declined by 0.1 percentage points to 7.0%.

Canadian international merchandise trade (Oct.) Canada's imports declined 1.3% in September while exports increased 0.7%. As a result, our merchandise trade deficit with the world narrowed from $2.7 billion in August to $1.7 billion in September.
