In Japan, the Nikkei 225 bounced 1,363.61 points, or 2.1%, to close Monday at 66.970.22.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng jumped 269.46 points, or 1.1%, to 25,937.49.

In Shanghai, the CSI index eked up 7.59 points, or 0.2%, to 4,702.02.
In Korea, the Kospi index recovered 40.89 or 0.2%, to 6,299.66
In Taiwan, the Taiex index rallied 702.85 points, or 1.6%, to 44,927.76.
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 surged 64.11 points, or 0.5%, to 13,888.24.
In Australia, the ASX docked 31.01 points, or 0.3%, to 9,232.62.
