In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng recovered 137.75 points, or 0.5%, to 25,668.03.

In Shanghai, the CSI index regained 43.13 points, or 0.9%, to 4,694.44.
In Korea, the Kospi index dished off 37.61 points, or 0.6%, to 6,258.77
In Taiwan, the Taiex index dumped 170.79 points, or 0.4%, to 44,225.91.
In Australia, the ASX waned 7.98 points, or 0.1%, to 9,263.63.
