The Nikkei 225 caved in 1,741.81 points, or 0.9%, to 68,733.15
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index regained 174.01 points, or 0.8%, to 23,055.03.
Index heavyweight Samsung fell 9.06% to 286,000 while SK Hynix plunged 14.57% to 2,187,000.

In Shanghai, the CSI index climbed 174.01 points, or 0.8%, to 23,055.03
In Korea, the Kospi index slid 655.32 points, or 7.9%, to 7,648.09.
In Singapore, the Straits Times 50 index added 55.65 points, or 1.1%, to 5,217.15.
The Taiex index in Taiwan lost 274.83 points, or 0.6%, to 46,744.16.
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 disposed of 28.31 points, or 0.2%, to 13,582.15.
In Australia, the ASX squeezed higher 1.59 points to 8,724.49.
