‘The Batman’ Crosses $300 Million Mark At North American Box Office

Gritty superhero movie ‘The Batman’ retained the top spot at the domestic box office for the third weekend in a row, earning a cumulative $300 million U.S. in the process.

The Batman collected $36.8 million U.S. from 4,302 theaters between Friday and Sunday, representing only a 45% decline from last weekend.

Those ticket sales pushed The Batman past $300 million U.S. in North America, making the comic book adaptation the second pandemic-era movie to cross that benchmark after ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’

In total, The Batman added $49.1 million U.S. from 76 overseas markets, taking its global total to $598 million U.S.. Those returns represent a needed commercial win for Warner Bros., which spent $200 million U.S. to produce The Batman and many millions more to market the film.

In second place at the domestic box office was the PG-13 rated Japanese anime film ‘Jujutsu Kaisen 0,’ which notched a remarkable $17.6 million U.S. from 2,340 theatres in its debut. Horror film ‘X’ finished in third place at the box office.
