New Black Panther Movie Earns $180 Million, Biggest November Debut Ever

New Marvel movie “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” earned $180 million U.S. during its opening weekend in theatres, making it the biggest film debut ever in the month of November.

The new Black Panther movie also scored the second-highest opening for all of 2022 so far after fellow Marvel film “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” which earned $187 million U.S. in its debut weekend.

The long-awaited sequel to the 2018 hit “Black Panther” generated strong word of mouth and earned critical acclaim.

Fueling ticket sales were African American and Hispanic moviegoers that went to see the film.

The movie also arrived in theatres during a lull in the calendar, offering a much-needed boost to the global box office.

Analysts are forecasting that the new Black Panther movie should hold up well at the box office in coming weeks as it faces limited competition with no major blockbusters opening against it until Disney’s “Avatar: The Way of Water” that debuts on December 16.
