Spotify Outage Impacts 40,000 Users In U.S. And Canada

Audio streaming platform Spotify (SPOT) is operating normally again after a widespread outage negatively impacted more than 40,000 users in the U.S. and Canada on Sept. 29.

According to website Downdetector, Spotify users were not able to stream anything besides recently played songs and their playlists would not load for about three hours.

Spotify took to social media late Sunday to report that its music and podcast streaming platform was again operating normally and that the problem had been resolved.

“Everything's looking much better now!” Spotify said on social media platform X.

Spotify has not said what caused its service disruption in the U.S. and Canada. The company currently has 246 million paying subscribers worldwide.

It appears that only customers in North America were impacted by the service disruption.

The stock of Spotify has risen 134% over the last 12 months to currently trade at $369.30 U.S. per share.
