The quarterly earnings season continues this week with Oracle (ORCL).
Analysts expect Oracle to report Q1/2027 earnings per share growth of 18.3% Y/Y. This is slightly ahead of the forward P/E of 19.7 times, setting a PEG ratio of around 1.0 times.
The database firm invested heavily in AI servers. It is among the companies that the media thinks have around $3 trillion in off-balance-sheet commitments.
In the last quarter, Oracle reported multi-cloud revenue quadrupled Y/Y, while bookings rose by 325%.
Adobe Systems (ADBE) shares bottomed at $190.12 in June and closed at $266.51 last week. Ahead of the earnings report, the firm announced that Anil Chakravarthy will become the new Chief Executive Officer. Chakravarthy joined Adobe six years ago (in 2020), leading the Digital Experience business. In December 2021, Adobe promoted him to president of Digital Experience and worldwide field operations.
Investors will watch energy prices closely this week. Over the weekend, Iran and the U.S. exchanged attacks. The escalating tension breaks weeks of relative calm. In response, WTI crude prices will likely remain high. WTI crude closed at $92.15/bbl over the weekend.
Markets rewarded investors who bought the dip in BP plc (BP), Chevron (CVX), and Occidental Petroleum (OXY). But any signs that oil production increases or shipping traffic rises in the Strait of Hormuz would send oil prices lower.
