Meta’s New A.I. Chatbot To Use Celebrity Voices

The Reuters news agency is reporting that Meta Platforms’ (META) new artificial intelligence (A.I.) chatbot will features the voices of actors such as Judi Dench, Kristen Bell and John Cena.

Users will reportedly be able to choose the celebrity voice they want for Meta's new A.I. digital assistant. Other voices include rapper Awkwafina and comedian Keegan-Michael Key.

Meta is planning to officially announce the new voice features at its annual “Connect” conference that begins on Sept. 25.

The celebrity voices will start launching in the U.S. within weeks across Meta's family of apps that include Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.

Meta is rushing to put out new A.I. products as it competes against Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI and Alphabet (GOOG/GOOGL) in the fast-growing space.

The new A.I. assistant is reportedly capable of engaging in text chats and generating images in response to user’s voice prompts.

Meta’s stock has risen 88% over the last 12 months to trade at $564.41 U.S. per share.
