Atlassian (NASDAQ:TEAM) saw its shares fall Friday after the company reported an operation loss of $99.2 million for its latest quarter. Atlassian had a positive operating income of $23 million in the same quarter a year prior.
Total revenue was $872.7 million for the second quarter of fiscal year 2023, up 27% from $688.5 million for the second quarter of fiscal year 2022.
Operating loss was $99.2 million for the second quarter of fiscal year 2023, compared with operating income of $23.0 million for the second quarter of fiscal year 2022. Operating margin was (11)% for the second quarter of fiscal year 2023, compared with 3% for the second quarter of fiscal year 2022.
Net loss was $205.0 million for the second quarter of fiscal year 2023, compared with a net loss of $22.3 million for the second quarter of fiscal year 2022. Net loss per diluted share was $0.80 for the second quarter of
fiscal year 2023, compared with a net loss per diluted share of $0.09 for the second quarter of fiscal year 2022. Net loss for the second quarter of fiscal year 2023 includes a non-recurring income tax charge of $83.1 million which increased net loss per diluted share by $0.32.
Cash and cash equivalents plus short-term investments at the end of the second quarter of fiscal year 2023 totaled $1.7 billion.
