At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index rose 1.21%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap also increased. The TSX Venture climbed 1.36%, while the Smallcap increased by 1.55%.

- Pan American (TSX:PAAS) Silver NQ: Increased 4.96% or 1.35 points to 28.56
- Calibre Mining (TSX:CXB): Climbed 5.52% or 0.10 points to 1.91
Top Losers:
- Pet Valu Holdings (TSX:PET): Declined 0.81% or 0.21 points to 25.64
- Atkinsrealis (TSX:ATRL): Fell 0.65% or 0.38 points to 58.43
- BlackBerry (TSX:BB): Dropped 0.59% or 0.02 points to 3.36
In Commodities Trading:
- Crude Oil for August delivery increased 0.39 points to 83.20 a barrel.
- September Brent Oil Contract also climbed 0.44% or 0.39 to 86.63 a barrel.
- Gold Futures for August delivery rose 32.25 points to 2,365.65 a troy ounce.
Currency Markets:
- USD/CAD cruises at 1.36 with a daily range of 1.3644-1.3687.
- EUR/CAD has seen above 1.47.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 105.015
