At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index climbed 0.25%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap were also up. The TSX Venture rose 0.09%, while the Smallcap was up by 0.51%.

- BlackBerry (TSX:BB): Increased 9.18% or 0.49 points to 5.83.
- EQB Inc (TSX:EQB): Climbed 5.54% or 5.49 points to 104.56.
- Ivanhoe Mines (TSX:IVN): Rose 3.50% or 0.61 points to 18.03.
Top Losers:
- Novagold (TSX:NG): Fell 3.65% or 0.18 points to 4.75.
- Torex Gold (TSX:TXG): Dropped 2.31% or 0.66 points to 27.96.
- Aya Gold & Silver (TSX:AYA): Declined 2.33% or 0.260 points to 10.900.
In Commodities Trading:
- March Brent Oil Contract climbed by 1.05% or 0.80 points to 77.31 a barrel.
- Crude Oil for February delivery rose 0.85 points to 74.81 a barrel.
- Gold Futures for February delivery dropped 8.24 points to 2,646.46 a troy ounce.
Currency Markets:
- USD/CAD declined to 1.4325 at the market opening.
- EUR/CAD is trading at 1.4893.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.73% at 108.000.
