At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index climbed 0.30%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap also increased. The TSX Venture rose 1.62%, while the Smallcap was up by 1.33%.

- Orla Mining (TSX:OLA): Climbed 8.83% or 0.490 points to 6.040.
- IAMGold (TSX:IMG): Rose 6.75% or 0.47 points to 7.43.
- OceanaGold (TSX:OGC): Increased 6.10% or 0.235 points to 4.085.
Top Losers:
- Mattr Corp (TSX:MATR): Dropped 5.59% or 0.77 points to 13.01.
- Tilray (TSX:TLRY): Declined 3.16% or 0.06 points to 1.84.
- Shopify Inc (NYSE:SHOP): Fell 2.38% or 3.64 points to 149.23.
In Commodities Trading:
- January Brent Oil Contract climbed by 1.97% or 1.40 points to 72.44 a barrel.
- Crude Oil for January delivery rose 1.33 points to 68.25 a barrel.
- Gold Futures for December delivery increased 42.20 points to 2,612.30 a troy ounce.
Currency Markets:
- USD/CAD is just above 1.40.
- EUR/CAD is stable at 1.4878.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 106.445.
