TSX Composite starts lower today; trade balance in focus

Investing.com - Canadian equities started mixed on Monday. The top gainers were Capped Energy, Capped Consumer Staples and Capped Industrials indices. Capped Materials, Capped Utilities and Capped Real Estate were the top losers.

At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index fell 0.06%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap were mixed. The TSX Venture rose 0.07%, while the Smallcap was down by 0.38%.

  • Baytex Energy Corp (TSX:BTE): Climbed 3.34% or 0.150 points to 4.640.
  • Intl Petroleum (TSX:IPCO): Rose 3.13% or 0.55 points to 18.12.
  • Athabasca Oil (TSX:ATH): Increased 2.97% or 0.150 points to 5.200.
