In Japan, the Nikkei 225 declined 200.43 points, or 0.7%, to 66,016.36.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng soared 310.97 points, or 1.2%, to 26,009.46.

In Shanghai, the CSI index advanced 26.15 points, or 0.6%, to 4,618.90.
In Korea, the Kospi Index added 60.37 points, or 0.9%, to 6,912.95.
In Singapore, the Straits Times index regained 17.05 points, or 0.3%, to 5,688.96.
In Taiwan, the Taiex index popped 290.55 points, or 0.7%, to 45,224.29
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 moved forward 52.84 points, or 0.4%, to 13,972.68
In Australia, the ASX 200 dipped 24.87 points, or 0.3%. to 9,058.88
