Why ASML Fell Last Week

Last week, ASML Holding (ASML) lost 15.84% in value. The semiconductor equipment giant unexpectedly posted a weak guidance. Markets did not expect U.S. restrictions on its business to hurt results so soon in the last quarter.

ASML posted weak net sales. Quarterly net bookings of EUR 2.6 billion are less than half of the consensus estimates. For the fiscal year of 2025, the company lowered its revenue guidance range to EUR 30 billion to 35 billion.

ASML said on the conference call that the memory market faced a slower recovery. However, China's business will return to a more normalized percentage.
