In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index hiked 240.22 points, or 1%, to 24,280.56.

In Korea, the Kospi declined 62.35 points, or 0.9%, to 6,941.39.
In Taiwan, the Taiex spiked 110.51 points, or 0.2%, to 49,822.55.
In Singapore, the Straits Times index captured 37.21 points, or 0.7%, to 5,701.54.
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 inched up 1.11 points to 13,700.12.
In Australia, the ASX 200 gathered 49.28 points, or 0.6%, to 8,735.68.
