Swiss Bank UBS Reports 27% Profit Growth

Swiss bank UBS (UBS) has reported a big surge in its pretax profits as its wealth management business steadily grows.

The Zurich-based lender reported a pretax profit of $3.6 billion U.S. for the third quarter, up 27% from a year earlier and in line with Wall Street forecasts.

The bank’s net profit for the quarter totaled $2.7 billion U.S., which was also in line with analysts’ consensus estimates. The profit was equal to earnings per share (EPS) of $0.85 U.S.

Revenue in the July through September quarter reached $13.35 billion U.S., a 10% increase from the same quarter of 2025.

UBS’ common equity tier 1 capital ratio, a measure of a bank’s solvency, reached 14.7% during the period, up from 14.4% in the previous quarter.

Management attributed the solid financial results to growing inflows into its global wealth management business.

UBS saw net new assets in its wealth management business reach $55.1 billion U.S. by the end of the third quarter.

The bank’s management team added that they recorded $12.5 billion U.S. in client commitments across its wealth management and asset management businesses in Q3.

UBS also said in its earnings release that the integration of former rival Credit Suisse is “firmly on track” to be completed by year’s end, delivering $13.7 billion U.S. in cost savings.

In 2023, UBS agreed to acquire the failing Credit Suisse banking group for $3.2 billion U.S. It has been working to merge the two lenders ever since.

As the largest and most international bank in Switzerland, UBS is now considered to be
systemically important to the Swiss economy.

UBS said that its strong financial results reflect a diversified global business model and international footprint.

The stock of UBS has gained 20% over the last 12 months to trade at $46.79 U.S. per share in New York.
