Twitter Launches ‘Super Follows’ Subscription Feature In Canada

Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) has launched a "super follows" feature on its social media platform that allows creators to generate monthly revenue by sharing subscriber-only content with their followers.

People in the U.S. and Canada using iOS can now "super follow" a select group of people. Twitter plans to roll the feature out to people using iOS globally in the next few weeks.

In February of this year, Twitter outlined subscription plans that included tipping and paid subscriptions to "super follow" some accounts with the goal of attaining at least $7.5 billion U.S. in annual revenue and 315 million daily active users by the end of 2023.

Creators can now set a monthly subscription rate of $2.99 U.S., $4.99 U.S. or $9.99 U.S. to monetize bonus, behind-the-scenes content for their most engaged followers through the feature.

Along with the super follow subscription feature, Twitter also said it has launched a safety feature that allows users to temporarily block accounts for seven days for using harmful language or sending uninvited comments.
