U.S. chipmaker Nvidia (NVDA) is planning to launch a new open-source platform for artificial intelligence (A.I.) agents called NemoClaw that is aimed at enterprises.
According to media reports, Nvidia is looking to tap into the growing popularity of A.I. tools among businesses.
While not yet available, Nvidia has started pitching the product to enterprise software companies such as Salesforce (CRM), Adobe (ADBE), and CrowdStrike (CRWD).
Because the platform is expected to be open source, businesses would likely get free usage, with access granted in exchange for contributing to the project.
The platform will allow companies to dispatch A.I. agents to perform tasks for their employees and is expected to include security and privacy tools.
Companies will be able to access the platform regardless of whether their products run on Nvidia’s microchips and processors.
Nvidia has begun to invest in A.I. agents as companies shift from large language models (LLMs) to more specialized tools that can reason, plan, and perform complex, multi-step tasks.
Nvidia’s pivot towards A.I. agents also comes as people embrace so-called “claws,” which are open-source A.I. tools that run on a user’s computer and can perform various tasks.
Such A.I. agents were made famous by OpenClaw when it burst onto the scene at the start of this year. Privately held OpenAI quickly acquired OpenClaw and hired its creator.
Nvidia’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jensen Huang said that OpenClaw was “the most important software release probably ever.”
News of Nvidia’s new A.I. agent also arrives as the company prepares for its annual developer conference in San Jose, California later in March that will focus on new hardware and software offerings.
NVDA stock has gained 70% over the past 12 months to trade at $182.65 U.S. per share.
