Calgary Home Sales Fell 21% In April

The number of homes sold in Calgary during April declined 21% from a year ago to 2,690 units, according to the city’s real estate board.

New listings of homes for sale fell 32% in April from a year earlier to 3,133.

The constrained supply pushed the benchmark price of a home sold to a record high of $550,800, said the Calgary Real Estate Board.

The record home price amounted to a 2% increase from March and a 1.19% price rise from April 2022.

The drop in new listings during April has ensured that supply levels remain low in Calgary’s housing market, leading buyers to compete with one another and place offers above list price, said the real estate board.
