Job Vacancies Across Canada Fell 2.4% In November

The number of job vacancies across Canada declined 2.4% in November, according to Statistics Canada.

Job vacancies in Canada are now at their lowest level since August 2021, having decreased by 20,700 positions to end November at 850,300.

The job vacancy rate — which measures the number of vacant jobs as a proportion of total labour demand — was at 4.8% in November.

Statistics Canada said the number of job vacancies fell in the professional, scientific, and technical services category by 18%, while healthcare and social assistance vacancies declined 13% in the month.

However, the number of job vacancies in Canada’s construction industry rose 17% in November.
