More Canadians Plan To Leave Their Job: StatsCan Report

A growing number of Canadians are planning to leave their jobs in the next 12 months,
according to Statistics Canada data.

In August, 11.9% of full-time employees in Canada said they are thinking about leaving their
current job, up 5.5% from the last reading in January of this year.

Average hourly wages grew 5.4% compared to the same time a year ago, which is also up from
5.2% in July.

Statistics Canada reported that overall employment levels fell for a third consecutive month in
August, as the Canadian economy lost 39,700 jobs.

Canada’s unemployment rate climbed to 5.4% in August from a record low of 4.9% in July.
