Asia-Pacific markets closed mostly higher Thursday, with Japanese stocks leading gains.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 rushed another 2,203 points, or 3.3%, to 68,956.72.
The Nikkei’s rally was led by technology and electronics stocks. Lasertec surged 11.1% and chip-testing equipment maker Advantest jumped 9.8%. Index heavyweight Softbank closed over 4% higher.
In Korea, heavyweights Samsung Electronics surged 2.79% and SK Hynix rose 3.21%.
Markets in Hong Kong and Shanghai were closed for holiday.

In Taiwan, the Taiex soared 413.36 points, or 0.9%, 48,353.49.
In Singapore, the Straits Times index lost 8.21 points, or 0.7%, to 5,667.67
In Korea, the Kospi index sprang up 133.31 points, or 2%, 6,971.35.
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 slid 23.88 points, or 0.2%, to 13,810.51.
In Australia, the ASX 200 dropped 174.92 points, or 2%, to 8,614.43.
