In Singapore, the Straits Times index recovered 17.9 points, or 0.3%, to 5,729.02
In Korea, the Kospi index fell 18.93 points, or 0.3%, 6,870.81.
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 retreated 147.05 points, or 1.1%, to 13,638.63.
In Australia, the ASX 200 gained 29.56 points, or 0.3%, to 8,709.25.
