Equities in the Asia-Pacific region made up in large measure Monday for the slings and arrows they took last week, with the biggest growth reported in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Markets in Japan were closed for holiday.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng heightened 291.93 points, or 1.2%, to 25,042.71.

In Shanghai, the CSI index jumped 32.17 points, or 0.7%, to 4,539.67
In Korea, the Kospi Index charged ahead 113.49 points, or 1.7%, to 7,007.72
In Singapore, the Straits Times index recaptured 19.12 points, or 0.3%, to 5,675.23.
In Taiwan, the Taiex index popped 538.09 points, or 1.1%, to 47,718.84.
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 recovered 82.06 points, or 0.6%, to 13,821.20
In Australia, the ASX 200 eked higher 0.72 points, to 8,731.90.
