Kospi Paces Asia Gains

Asia-Pacific markets rose Wednesday, with South Korean stocks leading gains.

In Japan, the Nikkei 225 popped 2,342.91 points, or 3.7%, to end Wednesday at 66,300.44

In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng regained 62.9 points, or 0.2%, to 25,915.82.

In other markets;

In Shanghai, the CSI index added 57.23 points, or 1.2%, to 4,658.16.

In Singapore, the Straits Times 50 index lost 30.88 points, or 0.6%, to 5,581.37

In Korea, the Kospi index gained 239.31 or 3.8%, to 6,595.26

In Taiwan, the Taiex index galloped 1,250.94 points, or 2.9%, to 44,611.60.

In New Zealand, the NZX 50 advanced 93.72 points, or 0.7%, to 13,997.18.

In Australia, the ASX grew 82.08 points, or 0.9%, to 9,227.83.
