Chair Of Ontario Securities Commission Resigns

Heather Zordel, chair of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), has resigned less than a year after taking the top job.

Ontario Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy’s office said that the minister accepted Zordel's resignation on October 21.

A reason for Zordel stepping down has not been given. She was appointed to a two-year term that was to run until April 2024.

The OSC was reorganized earlier this year and split the roles of chair and chief executive officer into two distinct positions. Zordel was the first chair of the provincial securities regulator under new structure.
