Fidelity Launches Ethereum Trading For Institutional Clients

Fidelity Investments is enabling its institutional clients to trade cryptocurrency Ethereum (ETH) starting on October 28.

The Ethereum trading will be made available to institutional clients through Fidelity Digital Assets, a crypto-focused institutional custody and trading platform launched in 2018.

Going forward, Fidelity's institutional clients will be able to buy, sell, and transfer Ethereum when markets are open.

The ability to trade Ethereum is the latest move by Fidelity to expand its cryptocurrency offerings to clients.

Earlier in October, Fidelity started a new Ethereum Index Fund for accredited investors. That index fund has raised $5 million U.S. since sales began at the end of September.

Fidelity now offers two exchange-traded cryptocurrency funds that are focused on the metaverse and digital payments.

Headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, Fidelity Investments is one of the largest asset managers in the world with $4.5 trillion U.S. of assets under management.
