Online brokerage Robinhood Markets (HOOD) is expanding the use of artificial intelligence (A.I.) agents for stock trading.
The company has revealed a new set of investing tools that include a more user-friendly A.I. agent that can help buy and sell stocks.
The move comes as Robinhood tries to win new customers and grow its business with existing clients.
In recent years, Robinhood has moved beyond its stock-trading app and pushed into new areas such as banking and financial advice.
Earlier this year, Robinhood launched A.I. trading capabilities that permit customers to hook up their preferred chatbot to a dedicated agentic trading account.
Now, with the launch of “Robinhood Agents,” the company is bringing agentic trading into its own proprietary app.
People will be able to open a dedicated A.I. trading account and choose an A.I. model from a lineup provided by companies such as OpenAI.
Robinhood says that since it launched A.I. trading in May, more than 150,000 customers have opened accounts and A.I. agents use Robinhood’s tools almost 30 million times each day.
Additionally, Robinhood announced that it is expanding its trading hours. Pending regulatory approval, the company intends to offer weekend stock trading to its customers.
Management at Robinhood said that, early next year, its customers should be able to trade a selection of U.S. stocks around the clock, even on the weekends.
HOOD stock has declined 19% over the past 12 months to trade at $116.22 U.S. per share.
