Monday's Biggest Movers: Ford, AMD, McDonald's, and More

The quarterly earnings from several widely watched companies will move the underlying share price this week. Ford Motor (F) will report results today. The chances are low that the company will overcome several headwinds. Still, General Motors (GM) jumped after posting strong Q3 results.

For Ford, consumers are cutting back on spending. They are less likely to buy expensive Ford Lightning and the Mustang EV vehicles. The firm may post lower expenses related to warranties and recalls this quarter.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) will post the results on Tuesday. Although its PC market may underperform due to weaker CPU and graphics card sales, the AI server market is a bright spot. Expect AMD to raise its AI-related revenue targets.

McDonald’s will update its investors on the impact of the E. coli recall on sales.

On Wednesday, watch Meta Platforms (META), Eli Lilly (LLY), and Lemonade (LMND) after they post results. Investors are keen to hear about Meta’s outlook on its VR headset, along with its AI developments.

Thursday will highlight Apple (AAPL), Amazon (AMZN) Mastercard (MA), Intel (INTC), and Altria (MO) earnings. Apple (AAPL) will move markets the most after markets close with its earnings reports. AAPL stock typically moves Qorvo (QRVO) and Skyworks Solutions (SWKS) shares as well.
