Watch These Stocks: Salesforce, Affirm, Nvidia, and More

The technology sector will have a wide move on Wednesday when Salesforce (CRM) posts its second-quarter results. Analysts expect the firm to report earnings growing by at least 11%. In the last quarter, the firm disappointed investors when elongated deal cycles hurt its revenue.

Affirm (AFRM) needs to post a strong Q4/2024 earnings report to end the downtrend in the share price. AFRM stock peaked at over $50 in December 2023 and closed at $32.51. Analysts expect the firm to lose nearly $0.50 a share. Look for the company to post revenue growing by nearly 40% Y/Y.

In the AI semiconductor sector, watch Nvidia (NVDA) after markets close today. The firm presented Nvidia NIM Agent Blueprints at Hot Chips 2024. This is a conference hosted at Stanford University. The Blueprints are a catalog of pre-trained, customizable AI workflows.

Although the Agent does not help a customer build a large language model, it will help connect the business to them quickly.

In the vaccine market, be wary of Moderna (MRNA), whose stock closed below $80 yesterday. On August 23, 2024, the European Commission approved Moderna’s mRNA-based vaccine for respiratory syncytial virus (“RSV”). This news did little to end the stock’s downtrend.

Although MRNA stock may under-perform, it received its first non-Covid vaccine approval. This is a notable achievement.
