Bitcoin Breaks Even On The Year As Price Tops $47,000

Bitcoin (BTC) broke even on the year after its price briefly surpassed $47,000 U.S., rising as high as $47,524 U.S. before settling back in the $46,850 U.S. range in Asian trading.

The largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization is up 5% in the last 24 hours, according to market data. Bitcoin has gained over 12% in the past week.

Ethereum (ETH) and most other major cryptocurrencies are rising today with the second largest crypto by market capitalization changing hands at more than $3,250 U.S., its highest level since early February.

Other altcoins have also risen in recent trading sessions. Popular meme coins Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB), are up about 6% and 3% respectively today.
