Bitcoin (BTC) is enjoying its biggest win streak in nearly 15 years.
The largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization has posted gains in July, August and September of this year, a three-month win streak that hasn’t occurred since 2012.
In fact, Bitcoin has only posted consecutive gains in July, August, and September once before in its history – back in 2012.
Bitcoin’s price rose 4.8% in July and 25% in August of this year, according to market data. With a week left in September, BTC is up 11% on the month.
In 2012, Bitcoin posted gains of 41%, 6.4%, and 24% in July, August and September. That win streak was broken in October when Bitcoin declined 9.7%.
However, Bitcoin’s price went on to rally more than 2,000% off the October 2012 low. Back then Bitcoin was a thinly traded asset worth less than $10 U.S.
The current bull run in Bitcoin comes after its price steadily declined from early October 2025 to late June of this year, dropping from $126,000 U.S. to $58,000 U.S.
The digital asset is now rallying hard amid signs that the latest “crypto winter” has ended and investors rotate capital back into digital assets.
BTC is trading at $85,500 U.S. on Sept. 23.
