New Movies ‘The Flash’ And ‘Elemental’ Disappoint At Box Office

It was a disappointing weekend at the box office as new movies ‘The Flash’ and ‘Elemental’ failed to meet expectations.

The latest D.C. Comics superhero film, ‘The Flash,’ earned $55 million U.S. during its three-day opening weekend, much lower than the $85 million U.S. expected by industry analysts.

At the same time, the new Disney (DIS) Pixar animated film ‘Elemental’ earned $29.5 million U.S. during its opening weekend, which also missed expectations.

Film ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ continues to hold up well with audiences since its June 2 debut. The film earned $27.8 million U.S. this past weekend, bringing its total haul to $489.3 million U.S.

‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ added another $20 million U.S. at the North American box office, while Disney’s live action ‘The Little Mermaid’ earned an additional $11.6 million U.S. in ticket sales this past weekend.
